A Real Postpartum Reflection
Motherhood Disenchanted adventures into the nitty-gritty, sleep-deprived, chaotic, and sometimes dark thoughts that come fluttering through the early years of mothering. After back to back pregnancies and years of isolated mothering due to location and then lockdowns, Alexa felt a major gap in discussion around the raw and tough intimate moments of motherhood. She used writing as a form of catharsis and a way to work through difficulties as they arose. She hopes her words help other mothers feel seen and encouraged. Alexa delves into her marriage adapting, changes in her body, breastfeeding, anxiety, exhaustion, loss of self, and more.
Hi, mama.
My name is Alexa.
I live in Fort Collins, CO. with my husband Ryan and two toddlers, Fox & Finn. I am devoted to helping women rediscover and trust their bodies outside of the mainstream media and medical system, especially during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I am also passionate about creating intentional community, which looks a lot like gathering in women's circle, hosting local Babies & Brews events, hiking together, and more. My husband farms and we host weekly farmers markets on the property, Well Fed Farmstead, which is another way we love to give back to our neighbors.

I wrote Motherhood Disenchanted from an intense and raw time in my early mothering journey, and I feel it is important to offer the medicine of those moments to women who may currently be in a similar place. Allow my words to wrap you in compassionate empathy, and remind you that you are not alone on this journey, and that everything is temporary.
